Courses & Connection
Connection with Nature, Courses, Inclusion & Community
We believe spending time in a natural environment is beneficial for everyone in a myriad of ways. So we welcome you to explore the vineyard site on nature based courses, where not only will you learn new skills, but science has proven that just standing and breathing in the air in the woodland is good for your health.
This page also sets out some examples of our work to bring a diverse range of people to the site to connect with nature and our free wellbeing sessions.
Accessibility – our site is on a slope and as we try to leave nature to it, the ground is uneven. You will need to walk a short distance from the car park. There are areas where you can find quiet. We understand you are best placed to make your own decisions about what is possible for you, so please contact us to discuss site details if you have concerns.

Courses At The Vineyard
Explore what interesting, beautiful and useful plants we have growing wild around us on a woodland wander, which is different in each season as the year develops.
Sit looking out over the vineyard as you absorb the calming atmosphere and maybe sample unique teas, the fruits of your foraging or make your own skincare products.

We team up with wonderful local organisations who enjoy sharing their knowledge with you in a relaxed open environment covering things like foraging, fermenting, basket weaving, yoga and relaxation with EcoWild and Living Wild.
After foraging for ingredients on the site create your own skincare products using natural botanicals with the lovely Rebecca Botanicals.
Training for business leaders on how to bring the nurturing power of nature to your organisation with the Natural Academy.
This year, we welcome Megan from Omcha with Meg to perform tea ceremonies and workshops, which include time in the woodland to open your senses, before watching the soothing, mesmerising, rituals of Cha Dao tea ceremony. She can also organise personalised events, so please contact her for more information.
New – Mindfulness Retreat for Stress & Anxiety – Learn coping strategies for reducing the ‘busy mind’, increasing your resilience and self-esteem, as well as how to find a balance when using social media. Led by Nicola MacDonald, experienced coach, author and director of My Resilient Mind. Next courses are 9th February, and 22nd February book here.
Please contact them or us for dates, further information and booking.

Community & Inclusion
Community, inclusion and connection with nature are at the heart of our ethos, so we do our best to enable children and adults from a range of backgrounds to use the site. Members of our family and friends have special needs and disabilities, and this has made us aware of eco therapy and how nurturing being in nature can be.
We work with a number of Charities, local groups and the local Special Needs school. Together with EcoWild CIC we offer free wellbeing courses annually for carers, those with long term conditions, mental health issues and those who are grieving.
WineGB is the body that represents the UK vineyards and wine trade and Filippa represents the vineyard as a member of the national Wine GB Diversity & Inclusion working group.

Free Well Being Sessions
Would you or anyone you know benefit from a refreshing break in a calming environment, learning how to use time in nature to release anxiety?
Generally between January and March we run annual free wellbeing sessions in the Vineyard woodland.
One attendee commented – “it made me feel like a human being, instead of just a human do-ing’.
Find out more information from the EcoWild website.
Combe Hay Vineyard will not be involved in booking these courses and information provided will be confidential and not shared with us.
