Being There

There is a large deck beside the vines and a lawn with firepit – great for star gazing. Snuggle on cosy armchairs beside the wood burner or even with a cuppa in bed, looking out through the French windows.

Equipped with a kitchen and heated shower room, there is a library of books in the reading nook and a large desk where you can write or use art materials to rekindle your creativity.

Wander into your private woods to feel the beneficial effects of nature with tailored foraging information and a guide to woodland meditation or forest bathing (Shirin Yoku), so you can have a go anytime during your stay.

Exploring

Although it feels deep in the countryside, the location is 10 minutes’ drive into Bath, and easy travel to Frome, Babbington House, or Bradford upon Avon (20 minutes), or a drive though Somerset villages a little further afield to Bruton, Hauser & Wirth or The Newt (45 minutes).

Our handbook picks out a selection of local villages we think are hidden gems for you to visit and our favourite local produce providers, restaurants and wine shops. Vale House Kitchen is a brilliant local country skills and cookery school.
